HISTORY AND PRINCIPLES

Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Incorporated, MN Chapter, is a nonprofit and non political organization founded in 1997 with Hon. Emmanuel Taye as its first President. It was founded to promote unity amongst Grand Gedeans, its Honorary and Associate members regardless of geographical location, and to foster cordial relationship with all friendly and peaceful people of the world. The MN Chapter shall provide assistance to all in need without discrimination or irrespective of nationality, creed, color, religion, ethnicity, gender and age. We are a simple group of people “UNITED FOR EXCELLENCE.”

We insist and continue to promote and exchange our Cultural Heritage and values within the State of Minnesota, amongst Diaspora Liberians and Friends of Grand Gedeh County, Liberia. We ensure “selflessness, impartiality, accountability and transparency” for the growth and development of our membership, County and well wishers.

GOALS

To assist, protect and promote the interest and welfare of all dues paying members and others in need according to our constitution. To provide counseling, relief, scout for educational opportunities for the benefit of a target population, especially the youth, and provide other humanitarian services for our impoverished County. Finally, to forge alliance with other chapters or organizations, whose aims and objectives are similar to ours.

Building a community with emphasis on service for all, seeking funding for the awarding of scholarships and care for our senior citizens of Grand Gedeh in Minnesota; our sick and deaths in Minnesota and making the “family” the “microcosm” of our Community unity. Seeking donations, contributions and grants for the realization of a Community Center within the State of Minnesota, whilst maintaining a more interactive website for the exchange of ideas, evaluation of the Leadership and surveys on matters and concerns important to this Association.

Building and equipping of a public library in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, Liberia will be key and paramount in reducing illiteracy and the lack of educational logistics within our County.

Our vision is great, our mission is to serve and unite our people for community development.”
